MN Consumers First Alliance Cheers senate passage of sunday sales

St. Paul, Minn. (February 27, 2017) – Following today’s 38-28 vote in the Minnesota Senate to allow Sunday sales of wine, beer and spirits in retail stores, the MN Consumers First Alliance issued the following statement:

“We are elated that the Minnesota Senate decided today to side with the overwhelming majority of Minnesotans who support the sale of beer, wine and liquor on Sundays. Today’s vote was a huge victory for consumers. As several legislators pointed out during the process, this movement has been one of the most engaged grassroots efforts seen on the state level in years. Thousands of Minnesotans reached out to their legislators to let them know they wanted Sunday sales. We are proud to say that legislators resisted the big liquor lobby and voted with their constituents. We look forward to seeing Gov. Dayton sign Sunday sales into law.”
